Hello and welcome to Christ Church Anglican. I am Fr. Mike Cochran, the Rector of the parish. I was appointed Rector in 1990 after serving as an associate for three years. Christ Church is a parish in the Episcopal Missionary Church and uses the 1928 Book of Common Prayer in its services of worship. I graduated from Otterbein College and Capital University Law School. I received the Masters of Theology degree from the Methodist Theological School of Ohio and I did additional work at the Episcopal Seminary at the University of the South in Tennessee. |

My prior work experience includes being a teacher (high school social studies) and a coach. I have been the Executive Director of the Ohio Township Association for twenty three years. On a personal level, I’ve been married for thirty six years and have two adult daughters. Christ Church was founded in 1977 and has been faithful to the historic catholic faith. Our worship services are traditional following the model of the Christian Church since its beginning two thousand years ago and is biblically based with all our preaching based on the biblical lessons assigned by our lectionary. Once again, welcome to Christ Church. Please visit us, make yourself known, and enjoy the fellowship. |

His six and a half years of WW2 service were spent as a fighter and bomber pilot in the Royal Air Force in which he served with distinction. In 1945 he entered the United States and gained national and international acclaim as a communications engineer. He also spent several years consulting in many middle eastern countries and eventually retired as Director of Engineering of the OSU Telecommunications Department. He is the author of 15 books in the communications field and is well known as a continuing author. He has been a la y reader for most of his adult life in places as diverse as New Mexico and Beirut. On moving to Columbus in 1978 he joined Christ Church almost immediately after its conception, and once again became a lay reader. He was ordained as a deacon and later as a priest, and travels the 160 mile round-trip from Loudonville, Ohio, for services. For almost ten years he has held weekly services at the Loudonville Home for physically and mentally handicapped people in addition to being chairman of the advisory board of the Mohican Correctional Facility for youngmen who have substance abuse problems. He met his wife of 31 years, Dr. Sara, in Trinity Cathedral, Cleveland where they were married. They have four children and four grandchildren; incidentally Dr. Sara is an accomplished glider pilot. |
